ABOUT THE FOUNDATIONThe Russian Public Foundation of assistance to the blind and visually impaired "Veresk" was founded in 1999 for the purpose of the developing and introduction of the artificial vision device for the blind – tactile substitution for vision (TSV). Since that time the first acting prototype of the device has been created and has passed preliminary tests. The Foundation "Veresk" units the efforts of people who share the philosophy of artificial vision both in spiritual and ideological way. Hereby it is significant to stress that the fulfilling of the project has become true owing to the role of the Founders - Sergey Ilusheko, Felix Shmidel, the authors of the invention; Gavriil Fingerov, the trustee, who provided the financial support of the first stage of the research, when the International Patent was received, working prototype of devise was built, the first approbation was hold and the Methods of Training was worked out. Special thanks to Efim Liberman, Pr., for the assistance in the working out tactile vision philosophy and the development of the project; Kurt Kashmarek, Dr., for the spiritual and moral support during the first stage of our research; Alexander Moravsky, for the significant help in designing the patents and holding of patent expertise; Alexander Sohatsky, for his attention to the project and financial support; Ilya Zaslavsky, for his cooperation and consultations in the field of way finding technologies; Vlad Yolkin, engineer, and Sergey Krooglikov, programist, for the creation of the first trial set of the Tactile Substitution for Human Vision; Paul McKenzie and Elena Shtern, for the assistance in creating of this site and promotion of our project abroad. |
